Frequently asked questions
What surfaces are suitable for Peel and Stick Wallpaper?
For the best results, removable wallpaper should be applied to appropriate areas without textures. A clean, smooth surface, well-primed, or painted plane is ideal and will ease the installation process. Ensure the paint is fully cured (at least two weeks for fresh paint). Prepare the wall where removable wallpaper will be applied by removing existing wallpaper, cleaning thoroughly, and ensuring it's dry and free of dust, grease or other products. Proper prep enhances the quality of the adhesive bond for a flawless photo like finish. We recommend trying the removable wallpaper material samples to test them on your particular wall, such as wood or other small spaces. This ensures that the installation process is much easier! A hair dryer on a low setting can help create an even level finish by smoothing out bubbles. It’s important to take the time for proper applying to avoid peeled edges and ensure the designs are easily installed.
Can I apply Peel and Stick Wallpaper over existing wallpaper?
Avoid installing removable wallpapers over existing wall coverings, as they may not adhere properly and could cause damage. Removable wallpaper needs to be applied to clean surfaces and smooth surfaces and the old wallpaper need to be removed. If applied over old wallpaper, the paste may not stick due to texture, leading to peeling, bubbling, and wrinkles. Remove the old wallpaper and properly prepare the area to ensure the new removable wallpaper adheres well, looks its best, and lasts longer. Although proper prepping requires extra effort, it results in a professional finish you'll be proud of. For more detailed application information, visit our How To section.
Is Peel and Stick Wallpaper reusable?
You can technically reuse it, but we don’t advertise our removable wallpaper as reusable multiple times. To reuse removable wallpaper, save the backing paper in perfect condition and remove panels carefully. The preparation of the surface can affect how the sheets remove, and placing them back on the adhesive backing must be done perfectly to avoid any air bubbles. Remember, the longer the removable wallpaper stays on, the harder the glue gets, making removal tricky and potentially damaging to the removable wallpaper. We do not recommend this as our removable wallpaper is not designed for this purpose, but it is technically possible if done the correct way.
How to clean and maintain Peel and Stick Wallpaper?
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential to keep your removable wallpaper looking fresh! Wipe down your removable wallpaper with a soft, dry cloth or microfiber duster to prevent dirt buildup. For spot cleaning, gently dab stains with a damp cloth or soft sponge; avoid scrubbing to prevent damage. Steer clear of harsh cleaners, bleach, or abrasive materials that can harm the removable wallpaper. In high-traffic areas, consider a clear protective film to guard against splashes or stains. Control humidity levels, especially in restroom and kitchen environments, to prevent glue weakening. With these tips, you can keep your removable wallpaper clean and fresh! Say goodbye to boring walls and embrace a happy living space that reflects your personal taste and creates a perfect match for your home decor.
