3 Wallpaper Installation Do's & Dont's
When it comes to planning a wallpapering project, there are a couple of things to know before starting the process to ensure the best result. After deciding on which room or wall you would like to decorate with wallpaper as well as choosing the design and color of the wallpaper, reading more about the process of installation and preparations is a must. To help you out and get ready for the interior make-over here will be 3 wallpaper installation do's & dont's with some tips from us to give you a boost of confidence before starting the process.

1. Textured Wall

Textured wall preparation for wallpapering
For a perfect result, we do not recommend installing wallpaper on textured walls. We suggest choosing a smooth wall or preparing the wall correctly before installing the wallpaper for a perfect result. The wall surface should be smooth, dry, clean and free of any stains and grease similarly to the walls seen in the photo above prepared by Anna for wallpaper installment. Furthermore, old wallcovering together with loose paint should be completely removed. A smooth and flat surface will ensure that your chosen wallpaper design will have a perfect look and avoid any visible bumps or uneven texture. 2. Same Base Color

Matching walls base color with wallpaper base color
For a picture perfect result choose a wall or prepare it in the same color or close to the base color of your chosen wallpaper design. Installing wallpaper on a colorful, darker wall than the base color of your chosen wallpaper or a patterned wall, can change the design color and expected look of the wallpaper. The different color or pattern, for example, any painted wall artwork can shine through the wallpaper and give an uneven design. If the color difference is very noticeable or your chosen wall has a pattern, we recommend covering your walls with a similar color paint or white as it is the best base color for wallpaper installment. As mentioned in the previous point, peeling off any remaining wallpaper on your chosen walls is important as well, as any colorful pattern and texture can shine through after installing the new wallpaper. In the photo above we can see how Anna not only has made sure that the bathroom walls are smooth and clean but they are in a perfect base color for the chosen Black Plaid Pattern Removable Wallpaper installment.
Adhesive and traditional removable wallpaper
Furthermore, our self adhesive wallpaper is in a more bright white color, making it appear more cooler and vivid. The traditional wallpaper, however, is in a warmer color as it is more off white. If, for example, you are planning to install traditional wallpaper on your walls and looking for a warmer feeling, then ideally you would like to have your walls to be in a light/white color for the best result. To make sure about the best color for the walls before ordering wallpaper and installing it, we suggest ordering a sample and checking it against your chosen wall for a flawless result.

3. No Overlap

Our wallpaper is designed to be put side by side without an overlap. Therefore, rather than wallpapering by overlapping, place the panels tightly against each other to be sure to match the pattern. This is very important to have the design match perfectly with every panel next to it. Installing the wallpaper correctly by placing it side by side is specifically crucial with murals and wallpapers, for example, with geometric design or floral design that create a continuous picture. As seen in the beautifully designed bathroom by Anna above, to match each Black Plaid Pattern Removable Wallpaper panel, placing it correctly side by side is important to connect every line and detail for a beautiful full picture. To be even more sure that the pattern matches, we recommend to lay out the panels to check the positioning of each wallpaper panel before installment.

We hope these 3 wallpaper installation do's and dont's will help you get prepared and get started with your wallpaper project for an efficient and flawless process and ideal result.
